DC Kupwara launches NAM conducts by Directorate of ISM for training cum awareness workshop for medical teams under NAM.

The Directorate of Indian System of Medicines and Homeopathic(ISM &H)AYUSH)JK in collaboration with Ayush Unit Kupwara today organized day long training cum awareness workshop of Mdedical Teams for implementation of National Ayush Mission (NAM) at DC Office Complex Kupwara.
The District Development Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir participated as Chief Guest inaugurated the function and takes part in the threadbare discussions while the Chief Medical Officer,Chief Education Officer,Assistant Medical Officer(Ayush)District Co-Ordination ,Chief Planning Officer,Assistant Commissioner Revenue,officers of Education,Health,Information,ICDS projects,field functionaries of different departments associated with the Ayush and H for NAM implementation were present at the occasion.
The District Development Commissioner,Kupwara(chief guest) speaking on the occasion impressed upon the ISM authorities to create awareness among the people in grass route level and the field functionaries to implement the AYUSH type of treatment under National Ayush Mission in the nook and corner of the district for providing and maintaining the healthy atmosphere to the society for this purpose the DDC seeks valuable suggestions from the health experts besides an action plan for establishing AYUSH GRAM in the district so that people would avail the benefits of the ISMH facilities besides the Herbal gardens be established under the mission.He lauded the role of all stake holders for organising such camp for Medical teams and exhorted upon the Doctors, Para Medical staff to provide better health services to the needy people through ISM,Ayush,type of treatment besides creating awareness among the people about the different non communicable diseases, symptoms and preventive measures so as to created healthy society atmosphere in the district. He passed instruction to the concerned organizers participants to work with added zeal,zest coordination dedication and commitments as accordance with the guide lines devised under National Ayush Mission implementations and come to the expectations of the public by approaching the ISM/AYUSH type of treatment..
Earlier the Assistant Medical Officer,Ayush presented welcome address and highlighted the progress achieved under the mission while apprising the chief guest about the performance and functioning of the AYUSH &H in the district Kupwara has informed that,122 manpower has been pressed into service under the programme which include 4 Ayush units,28 ISM Centres,33 ISM Centres in PHCs and 57 Medical Officers are funcytioning in the district to provide better health services to the people of the district through ISM/AYUSH Units .
Dr.Altaf Husain Sheikh, Senior Medical Officer,Ayush Unit Kupwara gave a detailed briefing during the seminar through power point presentation about the work done, performance and progress achieved under ISM/AYUSH methods of treatment and promotion of healthy society through implementation of ISM under National Ayush Mission guidelines .
