Building bridges in Kashmir with a wall of humanity reaches watergam rafiabad
Nissar Shaheen :
These days, kindness comes wrapped in woollens in rafiabad. The idea is from Turkey, Iran and Paris where people hang their clothes on the roadside for the people in need. We also want the people to hang their clothes, which they want to donate, on the wall. Today, was our first day and a lot of people came to donate their warm clothes,” says Msaoodul Haq from turkpora handwara a social activist.
Needy people come and take them from the wall without having to ask anybody,” said Masoodul Haq “The initiative aims to inculcate a sense of giving for greater good of society.”
Another memeber of group showket said they would try to spread this social betterment project to every part of Kashmir.
The concept is based on anonymity, so that both the giver and sender remain anonymous without lessening the dignity of people in need.
Said amir shakeel a agroup member
The wall, which is painted in black and white, has several hangers on which people can hang clothes.
“It is a smaller effort to bridge the gap between the people and we need to spread the awareness
We hope that people will support us in this initiative. He will also donate shoe racks so that people can donate their shoes,” he added
