International day for persons with disabilities celebrated at Udaan school and rehabilitation centre Drugmulla

Today on 3rd December 2017 International day for persons with disabilities was celebrated at udaan school and rehabilitation centre Drugmulla by Vijar division of Indian army in collaboration with Initiative for peace and development (NGO) .On this occasion apart from senior army officials, MLA kupwara, Bashir Ahmad Dar, District social welfare officer Kupwara Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad and scores of special abled childrens with their parents and prominent citizens participated.

In collaboration with Indian army Initiative for peace and development (NGO) has taken the responsibility to run the school cum rehabilitation for the prescribed period of time .As per official data Kupwara district tops in persons with disabilities with about 39000 persons. While as only 15000 have been covered under different government schemes as disclosed by district social welfare officer during interaction. On conclusion of programme the official held interactive sessions with locals and media persons.
