Clashes erupt in south Kashmir’s Shopian

Shopian: Police had to use tear smoke shells to disperse protesters in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Tuesday. The trouble started after forces allegedly attempted to arrest a shopkeeper amid shutdown against frequent power cuts in the town.
Local sources said that other shopkeepers stated protesting against what they called highhandedness of police ensuing clashes. They said that shops and business establishments were closed in the town to protest against the frequent cuts in the area.
