LADY DRUG PADDLER ARRESTED, 700 GMS CHARAS RECOVERED BY KUPWARA POLICE.

Continuing with the special drive of J&K Police to eradicate the drug menace from the society, based on specific information, a lady drug peddler has been arrested alongwith charas during checking of vehicles at Drugmulla. The lady has been identified as Mst. Mugli Begum W/O Abdul Qayoom Khan R/O Zurhama. 700 gms charas recovered from the lady. Case under NDPS Act registered at PS Kupwara. Further investigation is in progress.

During the current year special drive against drug peddlers, the Special team of District Police Kupwara has so far arrested 54 notorious drug peddlers involved in drug peddling/narcotic smuggling. 31 Kgs of Charas, 2 Kgs of Heroine, 4.5 Kgs of Brown Sugar, large quantity of codeine and banned drugs have been recovered from the possession of arrested drug peddlers. A cross LoC narcotic smugglers module has also been busted and four notorious crossed LoC narcotic smugglers have been arrested.

People of the Kupwara have eulogized the role of Police for launching effective campaign against drug peddlers and sale of psychotropic substances which according to locals are adversely affecting and ruining the future of the youth of the area. They have also express their gratitude to the J&K Police Chief S. P vaid under whose directions and guidance J&K Police is committed to eradicate the drug menace from the society. District Police Kupwara has appealed the local residents to come forward and help the police to eradicate this menace from the society as this anti-drug drive shall continue in the year 2018 to make the society drug free
