OGWS NETWORK INVOLVED IN FRESH RECRUITMENT BUSTED, TOP 04 OGWS ARRESTED,

District Police Kupwara has busted a network of OGWs, actively involved in radicalizing/motivating the youth to join militant ranks and to send them across LoC/South Kashmir for obtaining training of illegal arms/amn and has arrested four OGWs identified as

1) Rashid Bashir Pir S/o Bashir Ahmad Pir R/o Kunan Poshpora

2) Zakir Amin Pir S/o Mohd Amin Pir R/o Alaichizeb

3) Saif-ud-din Khatana S/o Maher din Khatana R/o Wogbal and

4) Manzoor AShmad Najar S/o Mohd Sultan Najar R/o Krishipora Nagri Kupwara.

Two youths have also been rescued who were radicalized/motivated to join the militant ranks.

During the last one year due to timely action and strenuous efforts made by District Police Kupwara so far 17 youth have been rescued who were radicalized/motivated to join the militant ranks from areas close to LoC. After proper counseling all the rescued youth have been handed over to their parents. All the OGWs who were involved in motivating the youth for joining the militant ranks have been booked. Four top OGWs have also been booked under PSA recently.

District Police Kupwara has also appealed the parents of the educated youth in particular and society in general to foil the nefarious designs of such anti-national/anti-social elements who are hell bent to push the educated youth of the area into militancy cadres, so that their lives/future can be secured.

Local residents have also eulogized the role of police for such pro-active approach and other youth oriented activities of the police in the district.
